The twenty-ninth conference "Rachmanov readings" organized by dermatology department of First Moscow State Medical University was held in Moscow, Russia, on January 26-27, 2012. The conference included 9 plenary and breakout sessions and a dermatoscopy workshop. The leading topic this year was "The bullous dermatoses", with invited speakers from leading research centers of Russia. Prof. Miklós Sárdy from München, Germany, delivered a review lecture, praising the contribution of Russian dermatologists and Pyotr Nikolsky to the field of bullous dermatoses. About 500 participants from Russia and CIS attended the sessions.
The Sixth Congress of dermatovenereologists from Belarus "Current aspects of dermatovenereology and cosmetology" took place in Vitebsk, Belarus, on November 24-25, 2011. The plenary and 10 breakout sessions were accompanied with integrated symposia and a videoconference with Moscow. Some 300 delegates from all regions of Belarus, guests from Russia and neighboring countries have attended the meeting. Prof. Vladimir P. Adaskevitch was elected as Chairman of Belorussian Society of Dermatovenereology, with Univ. doc. Alexander L. Navrotsky as Secretary.
The Fith Russian Conference "Saint-Petersbourg Dermatological Readings" was held on October 3 and 4, 2011, at the same venue at St.-Petersbourg. The conference, organized by local V.M. Tarnovsky Dermatology Society, was officially dedicated to 125 anniversary of St.-Petersbourg MAPE dermatology department. On the scientific agenda were one plenary and 9 breakout sessions, 11 symposia, 2 round-table meetings and a special cosmetology programme.
During the Readings, Russian Dermoscopy Society presented a special seminar "Russian Dermoscopy Innovation Programme", introducing for the first time in St.-Petersbourg the Russian Digital Dermatoscope, RDS-1. The audience was granted a possibility of practicizing with RDS-1 and diagnostic software.
The largest free project of distance learning for dermatologists has been completed in Russia on July 31, 2011. For 107 days, 1845 dermatologists from 89 locations of Russia and CIS attended to the first interactive television course on Dermatoscopy and Diagnosis of Skin Cancers. The nation-wide e-learning course is a joint effort of Russian Dermoscopy Society and Interregional Society of Teledermatology. The 4th Russian congress of Dermatovenereology took place in Sain-Petersburgh on July 6-8, 2011, together with the 2nd Continental Dermatology Congress of ISD. The congress programme included 13 breakout sessions, 8 satellite symposia, 2 round tables and a RODVK conference meeting.
The interdiscplinary conference "Actual questions of dermatovenereology and cosmetology" took place in Sochi, Russia, on June 16, 2011. The conference added to the programe of the Forum "Medicine of today and tomorrow" 3 breakout sessions and a videoconference on STI.
Regional conference of Russian IUSTI guild of STI specialists was succesfully conducted in Kazan, Russia, on April 28 and 29, 2011. Attendees gathered from Tatarstan and several cities of Volga region, Taganrog, Orenburg, Ufa, Izhevsk and Kirov.
The Fifthteen Siberian interregional conference "Dermatovenereology in Siberia: From Science to Practice" took place in Novosibirsk on March 24-25, 2011. The conference was dedicated to the 85 years since foundation of A.A. Bogolepov Siberian Dermatological Society. Six sessions and symposia were attended by more than 300 clinicians from 17 regions of Russia.
The 4th Russian conference "Urogenital infections and reproductive health: clinical and laboratory diagnosis and treatment" was conducted in two parts: in Moscow on March 17-18 and in St.-Petersburg on March 23-24, 2011. More than 1500 delegates attended 6 plenary and 10 breakout sessions, workshops and symposia. The conference was organized by Russian Association on Genital Infections and Neoplasia with support of postgraduate Medical Academies of Moscow and St.-Petersburg.
The two-day, all-Russian, interdisciplinary videoconference has connected 32 major cities of Russia on March 10 and 11, 2011. A set of lectures on mycoses, acne, rosacea and facial dermatoses, skin infections and local pain incited hours-long discussion with more than 1200 dermatologists, cosmetologists and aestheticians, clinical pharmacologists, neurologists, certified pharmacy workers and industry representatives from all regions of Russia and several CIS countries.
